The most historic fortification in the Eden Valley raises its portcullis for guided tours - see rooms which until this tour have never been open to the public. Climb the round tower and sit on the garderobe, be transformed as you enter the state bedroom with C16th & C17th tapestries adorning all walls from ceiling to floor. Soak up the majesty of the inner bailey that cherishes one of the finest Norman Keeps still in existence. Sit in the great hall and listen to Lady Anne Clifford tell you the history of this great castle. Tours last two hours and conclude with tea, coffee and home made cake in front of the 12th century fire place in the Old Great Hall. (included in admission price)
