South Tynedale Railway

Description

Narrow gauge heritage attraction including steam, diesel and heritage railway, Discovery Centre, café and shop. Running along the picturesque South Tyne valley from Alston Station to Slaggyford (via Kirkhaugh and Lintley Halt). Free car and coach parking when available at both Alston and Slaggyford station, picnic areas at each station and along the South Tyne Trail. The return trip to Slaggyford takes approximately 1.5hrs.

Disabled access : Accessible toilet. Accessible ramp to platform. Accessible Discovery Centre. (new accessible café under construction)

Last Admission : Last train departs 15.45 from Alston on running days. Last entrance to Discovery Centre at 4pm. (Note times may be subject to change so check website or talking timetable before you arrive)
Admission Prices : Adult Rover, All Stations, £10 Child Rover, All Stations, £5 Family Rover (2 adults and a maximum of 3 children aged 1-15) All Stations, £25 Rovers allow you to ride all day, except some special events Adult Single, £8 Child Single, £4 One single journey between a maximum of 4 consecutive stations. Dog Rover £2 when accompanied by a fare-paying human
