St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral

Description

Built in 1844 and designed by A.W Pugin who also contributed to Houses of Parliament interior designs. Grade I listed building. Spire designed by Dunn and Hansom (of Hansom cab fame) and built in 1872. The architectural style of the cathedral is decorated Gothic of the 14th century. Outstanding features are carved stonework, stained glass and ceramic wall tiles.
