Leighton Hall

Description

Award winning Leighton Hall is the lived-in house of the famous furniture making Gillow dynasty. Unravel the fascinating past of this ancient, Lancashire family, wander through the spectacular grounds and pretty gardens. As well as the house and grounds, Leighton has a children's play area, caterpillar maze, plant conservatory and charming tea rooms. Home to Mrs and Mrs Gillow Reynolds, Leighton is very much a "lived in" house, brought to life by the enthusiasm of the guides. Leighton Hall can be found in the north of Lancashire, just outside Carnforth, a few miles from the city of Lancaster nestling in a bowl of parkland against a backdrop of English Lake District hills. Open May to September to the public, but pre-booked groups are welcome all year round.
