Set in a designed landscape and situated off the A6095, Newhailes is a mellow late 17th century home with 18th century additions, in authentic condition. It has an impressive library associated with many well-known figures from the Scottish Enlightenment, and a fine collection of portraits and paintings. Guided tours of the house, a variety of interesting woodland walks, beautiful parkland and superb vistas make this an enjoyable experience for all the family. Tours take place at Easter and from May-Sept, every half hour from noon-3.30pm and last approximately 75 minutes. Access to the house is by guided tour only.
