Preston Mill is a very picturesque 18th century grain mill, situated in an idyllic location off the A1 near East Linton, 23 miles E of Edinburgh. Its distinctive conical roof, red pantiled buildings, water-wheel and mill pond, complete with resident ducks and geese, make it very popular with artists and photographers. The machinery can be seen in action and guided tours of the mill can be arranged. There is an on-site exhibition explaining the history of the mill and its miller; children
