Berwick was a battleground in the Middle Ages. The new "Medieval Berwick" gallery looks at this violent period with plenty of weaponry and a fine reconstruction of Berwick Castle. Finds from recent excavations are on show together with magnificent medieval art from the Museum's Burrell collection.
A changing display of the finest items donated to the town by Glasgow shipping millionaire Sir William Burrell includes pictures by masters such as Boudin and Degas are shown alongside an impressive display of Oriental porcelain and bronzes.
