North Walney National Nature Reserve

Description

North end of Walney Island. Site of mesolithic, neolithic, bronze and iron age finds. Rich variety of habitats with over 300 species of plant recorded. Habitat of rare Natterjack toad; 130 species of birds have been recorded on the reserve. Public access on foot only. Please keep dogs under control especially during breeding season (Apr-Jul)
