A beautiful Victorian park steeped in history within the heart of the city. This park held the forerunner to the first Miners' Gala in 1871 when 5,000 people gathered to listen to speeches and hear the expertise of the colliery bands. The park has a conservatory, bandstand, mini dodgem cars, tennis courts, play area and picnic area. Car parking available.
