The British in India Museum

Description

Situated at Hendon Mill, Hallam Road, Nelson, BB9 8AD. Exhibits cover many aspects of the British rule of India from the early years of the 17th century to Independence in 1947. Items on show include swords, kukris, commemorative boxes and plates. Models carved in ivory, photographs, paintings, Indian Army cap badges and buttons, a large collection of Indian regimental neckties, clothes worn by E.M Forster when he was Private Secretary to the Maharajah of Dewas State senior.
