Ravenglass Railway Museum

Description

Telling the fascinating story of the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway from its inception in 1875 as a 3ft gauge line transporting iron ore through to its current status as one of the country’s premier 15inch gauge tourist steam railways. Historic locomotives and rolling stock displayed with smaller objects, models and interactive features bring the diverse history of ‘La’al Ratty’ to life. Currently under-going redevelopment through the Heritage Lottery Fund.
