On A592 Kirkstone Pass road 1 mile north of Windermere. Walled garden and some 17 acres including three National Collections of Astilbe, Meconopsis and Polystichum Ferns. Hillside garden with fine plantings and spectacular Lakeland views. There is a recently acquired tarn, wild garden and woodland of some eight acres. Open access from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year. Reception open from Easter- end October. The society and gardens are run entirely by volunteers. Parts of the garden are on the level and have hard paths and plenty of seating. Access to steep rockeries and woodland not possible for disabled. Disabled parking and toilets available. Car park, toilets. Group visits by prior arrangement only.
