Built 1550. Sir Edwin Lutyen's inspired restoration in 1903 provided comfortable home totally in character. Small walled Gertrude Jekyll Garden.

Useful Information

Disabled access : During the Major Restoration Project, there is no access to the Castle building
Opening Times : Lindisfarne Castle is now closed until Spring 2018 for the completion of a Major Restoration Project. The adjacent field will be accessible 24 hours a day during this period leading to the Gertrude Jekyll Edwardian garden, 19th Century Lime Kilns and headland walks. See the website for Holy Island Causeway safe crossing times, and opening times to the Lindisfarne Priory and Discovery Centre. Holy Island village remains open for business as usual.
Last Admission : Last admissions: 30 minutes before closing.
