Abbotsford

Description

Abbotsford, situated on the banks of the River Tweed, is the house built and lived in by Sir Walter Scott, author of Rob Roy, Ivanhoe and The Lady of the Lake. The house contains an impressive collection of historic relics, weapons and armour and a library containing over 9,000 rare volumes. Visitors are able to see Sir Walter's study, library, drawing room, armoury, dining room and the private chapel built after his death. Gardens, grounds, tearoom and gift shop.
