Signposted from the A710 at Kirkbean, in the grounds of the Arbigland Estate. The cottage has been restored and furnished in the style of the 1740s when John Paul Jones was born. Visitors can view the construction of a replica of the great cabin of the Bonhomme Richard, the famous ship in which he fought against HMS Serapis off Flamborough Head, Yorkshire, in 1779. Other attractions include a museum shop, an interpretative display of John Paul Jones' life and a model of the Bonhomme Richard.
