York Guildhall

Description

A complex of buildings, situated in the city centre behind the Mansion House. Main features are the 15th century medieval hall and the neo-Gothic Council Chamber. The Guildhall was previously the headquarters of City of York Council and meetings of full Council are still held in the Chamber.

Useful Information

Disabled access : The main hall and committee rooms on the ground floor are accessible to wheelchairs. There is a chair lift to the Council Chamber on the first floor.
Opening Times : No longer open to the public on a regular basis. Guided tours by appointment. Also available to hire for meetings and private events.
