Description

Former site of a signal station, built in the late 4th century when the Romans were here, and either abandoned or ransacked in about 400 AD. Excavations discovered five stone bases, thought to be the bases of a wooden watchtower; one is to be found in the ground of Filey Public Library. No remains of the station are now visible but the Nature Trail on the Brigg and Carr Naze leads over the spot where the Romans kept watch.
