Durham University Botanic Garden

Description

10 hectare garden set in mature woodland with exotic trees from America, Himalayas, Japan, China and Chile. Magnificent monkey puzzle, probably the largest in Northern England. Tropical and Cactus greenhouses as well as a collection of tropical bugs and wildflower meadows grazed by rare breed sheep.

Useful Information

Disabled access : The Visitor Centre and Greenhouses are easily accessible by wheel chairs. Paths to the rest of garden are quite steep in parts.
Opening Times : Mar-Oct 10am-5pm, Nov-Feb 10am-4pm

Admission Prices : Adults £4, concessions £3, children and students £1.50 Season tickets: adults £15, concessions £10, children and students £6, family (2 adults + 2 children): £40
