The only museum in the North of England devoted entirely to Oriental art and antiquities. Covers all major cultures and periods of the East from Ancient Egypt through the Near and Middle East, China, Japan, Korea, India and the Himalayan region and stretching into South East Asia. Displayed in a way designed to make it accessible to the non-specialist. Temporary exhibitions throughout the year.
