Established in 1967, the award-winning Octagon Theatre in Bolton is widely regarded as one of the finest regional theatres in the country. The theatre stages at least eight main auditorium home-produced shows a year, and plays host to the cream of the UK's touring companies. The theatre also boasts a thriving learning and participation department which operates a highly successful Youth Theatre, as well as initiating and facilitating exciting education and outreach programmes. The Octagon's cafe, eight, is open daily and pre-theatre meals are available, and the Bar is open for pre, post and interval drinks.
