Pennington Flash Country Park is a 200 hectare site with extensive nature reserve areas. Habitats on site include reed beds, scrub, maturing woodland and grassland, centred around a 70 hectare lake created by mining subsidence. Park facilities include: an information point and toilets including disabled toilet, picnic and recreation areas, children's play area, a nine-hole golf course, a network of tracks and paths plus several bird hides with disabled access which overlook the nature reserve.
