Malham Tarn

Description

Six miles NE of Settle. A dramatic limestone area comprising 7,200 acres of farmland, woodland and Malham Tarn, the highest freshwater lake of its size in England. The Tarn and surrounding wetland are of internationally important scientific interest. Access via the south shore of the Tarn, estate roads and rights of way only, with a bird hide in the north west corner of the lake. This is a wonderful area to walk and cycle, enjoying the great outdoors.

Disabled access : Disabled access to bird hide and section at National Nature Reserve. Route around Malham Tarn is accessible by trampers.
