In the old farm and stables complex of buildings by the lake and at the hub of the public access to the grounds, nature walks and craft centre. The displays help visitors to understand how the estate was worked in the past, to see the tools it was worked with and how it has been adapted to modern methods. The artefacts range from Neolithic pottery (from archaeological excavations in the grounds) to plastic drainage pipes (displayed alongside their clay predecessors) to displays of estate, family and natural history. There is a picnic area, playground and tearoom. A herd of Highland cattle are also a feature on the estate.
